Filmmaker and cultural worker based in Montreal

I was born in Tenochtitlan (Mexico City) and was forever changed when my family immigrated to Tiohtià:ke / Moonyiang (Montreal) when I was 10 years old. During my BFA at Concordia University, my short Silvia in the Waves (2017) was screened at over 40 festivals and premiered online through Vimeo Staff Picks. Shortly after, I wrote and directed Dulce Hogar, shot over two weeks guerilla-style in Mexico City. The film went on to win Best Foreign Director at the 2019 BFI Future Film Festival. In 2021, I was selected as an emerging talent grantee by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television. I am currently in pre-production for my short film Windowpane (winner of the Writers Guild of Canada prize at the Cours Écrire ton Court Lab 2020) and in development on my first feature-length script.

When I am not writing, I have the pleasure of collaborating with festivals and nonprofits as an events organizer, grant writer, content maker, and accomplice.

Je suis né à Tenochtitlan (Mexico) et j’ai été changé à jamais par mon immigration à Tiohtià:ke / Moonyiang (Montréal) à l'âge de 10 ans. Pendant mon bac à l'Université Concordia, j'ai écrit et réalisé Silvia dans les vagues (2017), un court métrage qui a été programmé par plus de 40 festivals, y compris Vimeo's staff picks. Peu après, j'ai écrit et tourné Dulce Hogar en l'espace de deux semaines, à l’arrache. Le film a remporté le prix du meilleur réalisateur étranger au BFI Future Film Festival en 2019. En 2020, mon scénario Windowpane a reçu le prix de la Writers Guild of Canada au lab Cours Écrire ton Court, puis en 2021, j'ai été sélectionné par l'Académie canadienne du cinéma et de la télévision comme bénéficiaire d'une bourse pour les talents émergents.

Lorsque je n'écris pas, j'ai le plaisir de collaborer avec des festivals et des organismes à but non lucratif en tant que responsable de projets, rédacteurice de subventions, créateurice de contenu et complice.
